Missions at the Worship Center

Here at the Worship Center we are serious about sending the message of hope around the world. We believe Jesus wants to do amazing things not just in Berlin but everywhere. Here are a few thoughts on our philosophy of missions:

Our God given mandate is to join together, with each of us doing our part in:

• Looking after orphans and helping widows in distress
• Sharing food with the hungry people and clothing those who are naked
• Providing shelter to the poor and inviting in strangers
• Giving drink to the thirsty and caring for the sick
• Ministering to those in prison and encouraging those in despair
• Loosing the chains of injustice and satisfying the needs of the oppressed

The Worship Center's Mission Strategy
Ocean City Worship Center desires to be God's hands extended to lost and hurting people:

Here - the Eastern Shore;
There - the United States; and
Everywhere - Around the World.

We want to be where Jesus would be, touching people that Jesus would touch. It is God's heart and our responsibility to love people through our acts of service, prayer, giving, and encouragement.

We desire to be the kind of church that isn't afraid to role up our sleeves and get our hands dirty for the Lord. To be so close to God's work that we get a little dirt under our fingernails.

Our Resources:

First, it is our strong belief that each person is called to be like God in righteousness, to do something useful with their own hands, and to serve those in need. Each of us have God given gifts, talents and abilities, and desire to use them for blessing others and serving Him as we become "a church with dirt under our finger nails". This is realized through our outreach and service teams.

Second, in those areas where it is not possible to personally serve, we strive to bless others (missionaries and ministries) as they reach people both locally, nationally, and around the world.

Our Desired Results:
By involving our entire church body in ministry and missions we will:

-Keep focused on Christ and His great commission
-Keep from becoming complacent in our own accomplishments and lifestyle
-Develop personal relationships with mission ministries and missionaries
-Raise up young people who understand the Great Commission
-Bring a sense of unity and purpose to our body
