I'm New - What to Expect
What are your services like?
Each service runs approx. 1 hours and 15 minutes. They include a powerful time (~ 20 min.) of musical worship to the Lord consisting of both contemporary and traditional styles as well as biblical preaching where the Word of God is held as both authoritative and relevant to life today.
Time for personal response to the message is always given at the end of the service where you can pray individually or have someone pray with you. We will also frequently take time to pray for the sick during our services.
Is childcare provided?
Nursery is provided for infants up through 3 years old during our Sunday 10:45 a.m. service. Additionally, classes are available for children from grades K through 12 on Sundays at 9 & 10:45 a.m. and Wednesday Nights at 7:10 p.m.
What will I have to do if I visit your church?
First of all, we want you to feel welcome. Whether you are seeking a new church home, or simply desiring to know more about who the Lord Jesus is, you should feel like you are among family. Please know that we will not put you on the spot or embarass you in any way.
What should I wear?
Wear whatever you have. God is clear in His Word that He does not look on the outward appearance but rather into the heart of a person. People tend to dress in nicer clothes than their work outfits for Sunday service, but only out of honor to God in recognition of His majesty.
While we do encourage this mentality as it is an aspect of worship we can offer on our part, we are also aware that clothes neither bring a person closer to or move them further from God. We are simply interested in your encountering God through His Son Jesus Christ.
Are there any differences between the two morning services?
Essentially no. The same worship time and sermon occur in both.
What kind of church is this?
Ocean City Worship Center is an Assemblies of God church. We believe in God the Father, Jesus the Son of God and only Savior, and the Holy Spirit. We encourage every man, woman and child to be reconciled to their God through Jesus Christ and be filled with the Holy Spirit. The final authority is the Word of God.
Is there something for everyone in my family?
Yes, we encourage you to explore this website to learn more about our ministries for children, teens and adults.
Giving/Offering
A weekly offering/collection is taken during our Sunday Services. Our members/regular attendees believe in scriptural tithing (giving 10% back to God) as an opportunity to outwardly express our gratitude to God and acknowledge our role as stewards of everything we've been given.
However, we encourage all of our first-time visitors not to feel required to give. You are our guest! So just sit back, open your hearts, and enjoy the service!
