Grace Groups
Grace Groups are small fellowship/Bible study groups.
We believe that Grace Groups provide the optimal place for...
Transformation... growing in mutual accountability, submission and application of scriptural truth to become more like Jesus in attitude and behavior.
Community... creating an environment that seekers and believers can enter into relationships where they are known, loved, accepted, and challenged.
Compassion... encouraging group members to grow in love for others so that seekers and believers embrace and serve people in and beyond their small group.
Mission... building a community with a kingdom perspective so that each group member actively pursues relationships with lost people and considers God's calling to group leadership.
8 Reasons to Join a Grace Group
- To understand the Bible better. You can ask questions, join in discussions and hear others share insights and illustrations of the truth you are trying to grasp.
- You will begin to feel like part of God's family. Grace Group attendees say the greatest benefit is the relationships and friendships that develop. We really do need each other.
- Prayer will become more meaningful to you. Many people hesitate to pray in front of a large group. In a small group of 6-12, you will learn to participate by having a conversation together with God. No one is pressured to pray, but as you become comfortable, you'll be able to join in and pray.
- You'll be able to handle stress and pressure better. Small groups provide excellent support in times of crisis, change, and stress. You will have a sense of stability and security knowing people who really care for you are committed to standing with you.
- You will have a natural way to share Christ with relatives & friends. Maybe some of your friends who don't know the Lord wouldn't be caught dead in a church, but may be open to a casual Bible discussion in a home.
- You will develop leadership skills you never knew you had! The Bible teaches that every believer is given certain talents or "gifts" to benefit others in the family of God. In this relaxed small group setting, you'll discover your confidence and self-esteem rising that will help you at work, at church and in every other relationship.
- You will deepen your understanding of worship. Many believers mistakenly believe that worship can only happens on Sunday morning. You will learn that worship happens anytime we focus on God.
- You will be a New Testament Christian! The book of Acts is very clear about how God intends for His people to grow and have their needs met in the church.
Why Grace Groups?
In the society in which we live, there are some basic needs, which have not changed over all the years. The Worship Center believes one avenue to meet these needs is Grace Groups (home cell groups) in which we reach out to our people by encouraging them on their spiritual journey.
Groups of adults meet every other week in a host home. The Bible clearly gives us several illustrations on how the early church accomplished this:
- Jesus himself modeled the importance of ministry in the home.
Matthew 13:36-52 - Jesus sent his disciples into the homes.
Luke 9:1-4 - Focus on the home was also an early church practice.
Acts 20:20 - Jesus taught us that believers are to minister to one another.
Matthew 22:37-40 - Ministry groups increase opportunity for developing relationships.
We encourage each of you to get planted into the life of the church by joining a small group. We define "a small group"as a group of people who meet regularly to intentionally pursue full devotion to Christ and are served by a leader who can help them achieve their purpose.
