Here, There and Everywhere

The Worship Center's Mission Strategy

Ocean City Worship Center desires to be God's hands extended to lost and hurting people:

Here - the Eastern Shore;

There - the United States; and

Everywhere - Around the World.

We want to be where Jesus would be, touching people that Jesus would touch. It is God's heart and our responsibility to love people through our acts of service, prayer, giving, and encouragement.

We desire to be the kind of church that isn't afraid to role up our sleeves and get our hands dirty for the Lord. To be so close to God's work that we get a little dirt under our fingernails.

Our Mandate

Our God given mandate is to join together, with each of us doing our part in:

Our Strategy

"Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

How then can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"

Romans 10:13-15

Principle 1:

Prayer for Missionaries and Mission Ministries

We will continually and faithfully pray for our missionaries (Daily & Saturday Prayer/Praise Service). Prayer must be the primary gift we give to missions.

Principle 2:

Supporting and Encouraging Missionaries

We will continue monthly support to an ever-increasing staff of nationally appointed Assemblies of God missionaries. We will also do our best to "Serve as a Sender" through prayer, communication, and moral support!

Principle 3:

Showing Compassion

Locally - Martha and Stephen Ministries

World-Wide - We will minister one-time support in such situations as natural disaster, war, calamities, or other important needs through special offerings.

Principle 4:

Distributing the Word of God

We seek to distribute God's Word and Christian literature to every creature through Light for the Lost and BGMC (Boys and Girls Missionary Crusade). This focus will allow the Gospel to be spread with great speed and results.

Principle 5:

Involving our Entire Church Body in "Getting Our Hand Dirty"

We will seek to engage every person in Ocean City Worship Center in local and World Missions through giving and going!

Our main outreach teams will consist of our Grace Groups, Men's & Women's Ministry, Teen & Children Ministries. These teams are encouraged to develop outreaches and/or act of service to our community each year.

Giving and Going

Principle 6:

Support Assembly of God Churches on the Eastern Shore

We will seek to encourage and support the spreading of the gospel through Assemblies of God pastors and churches in strategic locations throughout the Eastern Shore.

Our Resources

First, it is our strong belief that each person is called to be like God in righteousness, to do something useful with their own hands, and to serve those in need. Each of us have God given gifts, talents and abilities, and desire to use them for blessing others and serving Him as we become "a church with dirt under our finger nails". This is realized through our outreach and service teams.

Second, in those areas where it is not possible to personally serve, we strive to bless others (missionaries and ministries) as they reach people both locally, nationally, and around the world.

Our Desired Results

By involving our entire church body in ministry and missions we will:
